TWOD is a miss for me. I can appreciate it for being sonically expansive. It's staggering how great the production is. All those layers are stitched together perfectly and it creates a brilliant sound, but it's not something I want to sit down and listen to. I think it would be perfect background noise if I'm buying some chinos at J. Crew or looking wistfully at a creek.

I'm going to see U2 and Sturgill Simpson in the same week next month. U2 will be the first old guy mega concert for me. Beck opens so that should be cool. Guessing I'm going to end up enjoying Sturgill live that much more.

Both should be pretty incredible. I'm curious how much instrumentation Simpson will have backing him.

Beck is opening? Damn. Have fun!

I saw U2 twice - once at the Target Center in Minneapolis and once at Soldier Field. Both really good. Screw the U2 haters

Shirley Manson at 50. Like I said, I'm normally 1 year behind the times. No kidding though, this is probably one of Garbage's top 5 songs.

I still like this album, but my 5th impression is it's a bit too mopey for its own good.

Conversely, the new Arcade Fire album is growing on me. Not a great work, but it'll do.
