When I checked the final score, I think the words that came out of my mouth were, "ARE YOU [expletive] KIDDING ME?!"Lesson wrote:Can't believe they lost to URI.lukethedrifter wrote:Bad loss for the Billikens' seeding.

My Cats' tourney hopes still alive after beating Penn State on the road. 45 RPI with Iowa (130) and OSU (9) left. They have a few quality wins (Mich St, Seton Hall), and came so close in 2 OT losses to Michigan.

Wish I had caught the game but nice win by SLU. Down by 10 at half, outscore Xavier 41-20 in the second.

The one thing I like about Majerus is his ability to readjust during halftime.lukethedrifter wrote:Wish I had caught the game but nice win by SLU. Down by 10 at half, outscore Xavier 41-20 in the second.

IU makes it hard to argue home team advantage in college ball. They've knocked off all these top ranked teams at home and then lost to Nebraska and Iowa away. Wonder how they do in the tourney where neither team is home.

What a Jekyll/Hyde year for those games. But it's a good team, no doubt.ghostrunner wrote:IU makes it hard to argue home team advantage in college ball. My Cats need to hold OSU close tonight to keep their RPI intact. An upset is too much to ask, but you never know.
EDIT:Cats hanging tough against OSU--down by 7 with 4 mins to play.

Lunardi currently has the Billikens in the Midwest as an 8 setting up a possible 2nd round matchup with the Beakers. Except I think we learned somewhere that SLU was the host and can't play in the Midwest. Oopsie, Joe L.

Bill Simmons probably wrote a column on this phenomenon, but I swear every time I've ever been forced to root for a team I ordinarily hate, that team loses. Ohio State is well on its way to continuing the trend.
ETA: Never mind. Nice comeback, and Michigan has a share of the Big Ten title for the first time since before I was a student there, which was a long freaking time ago.

I need some March Madness office pool advice. Since it is just me, do I fill out several brackets or just one? I'm also thinking of a $10,000 buy in with a 100% pay out. Probably won't cash the buy in check until I find out who wins.
