I've never owned a snowblower, and I don't think I ever will. I'm just to f'n cheap to buy one. One year ago and one day, we had 22" and I just kept going out every hour or two. Overnight was the [expletive]. Once I get to the point where I just physically can't do it, I'll pay somebody.

You can get a little 4-cycle single stage snowblower for around $350. We have a 3-car garage so a very wide driveway. It's still a lot of work but just I don't have 3 hours to spend shoveling.

My friends in NE said snow today was so wet and heavy the snowblower was useless. That sounds miserable to me.

I hear this from snowblow owners all the time. To heavy to use the blower. To light to use the blower. To <fill in the blank>. They just sound like an expensive pain in the ass to me.

You can also mow your lawn with one of these.

My neighbor mows his lawn with that, works great. I bought this bad boy last year:

Got it on sale for $109.

I also have to confess rad - I don't cut the grass. Or I should say I rarely cut it. My wife likes to cut grass, or she gets sick of looking at it before I do. I really would use a manual if it were up to me, but since my wife does most of the cutting I think the least I can do is treat her to the best.

We got about 12" at my house yesterday and overnight. 9-10" officially at the airport. After school activities were cut short yesterday but schools were on time again this morning.
Since we now live about 2 blocks from some great XC ski trails, I'm glad to have snow again after a big melt off last weekend.
