Maybe this should be the "Mitt Romney And Nobody Else" thread in that case. I'm sure Mitt wishes he could as easily dismiss the campaigns of Santorum and Gingrich.

For the record, the latter have both openly decried the entire notion that there is or should be a separation of church and state, and Romney is done his usual Romney thing by occasionally saying something vague about church and state allowing religions freedom before attacking the dangers of secularism.

Santorum and Gingrich have handed the nomination to Romney. If one of them would have dropped out early, Romney would have a much harder time. Early in the primaries, they stole votes from each other.

They also stole some votes from Romney, if Gingy dropped today 100% of his voters wouldn't go to Santorum, even if the vast majority would. The only hope either has is a brokered convention, which would pretty much require Santorum to win California.

Progressivism is sadly dead. Well not really but it sure the hell isn't going strong. The right has done an amazing job of framing liberals as anti American anarchist and pulling the country to the right. So far to the right that most of the country believes our Republican President is actually a far left nut job.

The right couldn't have done it if a majority didn't want to go along. It ain't the right, its America.

I also think Obama will be reelected. But I don't think it will be easy. Especially if the health care mandate gets shot down. Obama had so much enthusiasm last time...it just won't be there this time. I mean, other than health care reform, what has really changed?

These are the types of elections that democrats cannot take for granted. Republicans are going to vote no matter what. Romney doesn't trip their trigger but they really dislike Obama. They'll show up. On the democrat side, I don't see it.

I guess as long as democrats keep preaching the 'war on women' (so glad that everyone took that language out of politics since that lady in Arizona got shot in the head) they will win.

I disagree in a sense. I think America is much more progressive then it wants to believe. When to poll people they want things like Universal Health Care, gay marriage, hell even legalized prostitution as well as many other progressive causes. However the right, it's media, and it's money keep finding a way to stop it at every turn. We are at the point where the extremes are running the conversation in this country now, but the only extreme with a real voice is the extreme right.
