Of course, that goes both ways. If you're too pumped you become overagressive and can make stupid mistakes... giving the appearance of coming out flat.lukethedrifter wrote:I think Mizzou will be okay this weekend in Manhattan. If not, then Pinkel's not much of a coach because how hard is it to explain to your guys that you have a 3 game playoff to get to the BCS Championship game. Lose any of them, including this weekend and you are out.
I'm not saying that K State won't play the Tigers tough- heck, they might beat Mizzou- but if they come out flat as if they couldn't get up for the game then Mr Pinkel and his players have issues.

I agree. But, if LSU loses this weekend (are they playing) and OU, KU, Mizzou win, then it stands to reason that KU becomes #1 in BCS, OU #2 and Mizzou #3. Especially with decisive wins.ThatGuy wrote:If LSU wins the SEC, I see them being favored in the title game by just about everyone.BigDCardlvr wrote:The Big 12 Championship game could be #1 vs #2 and the big 12 champion favored to win the NC.
Then, let's say Mizzou beats KU and OU wins then somehow their both rated 1 and 2 (voters might elevate Mizzou because of the win over #1 KU), then Big 12 championship game produces #1 team in nation (if 1 vs 2 - winner obviously is #1) and that would be the ranking going into championship game. All LSU has to do is lose one and one of the big12 3 keep winning.

LSU plays Ole Miss this weekend (I don't think Ole Miss has won a conference game this year), so I'm not expecting an upset. However, the Rebels played some tough games with a few good teams (Florida, for one), and I guess the last two games between LSU and Ole Miss have been decided by field goals.
I guess you never know.

For this scenario to happen, both Mizzou and Kansas would have to lose this weekend. If Mizzou loses and Kansas wins, then Kansas wins the Big 12 North (even if Mizzou beats them, KU will have 1 loss and MU will have 2).JGant82 wrote:Mizzou loses this weekend, beats Kansas, beats Oklahoma (2 loss Mizzou, 2 loss Oklahoma, 1 loss Kansas)
There are a bunch of scenarios that can happen at this point, I agree. However, looking at the teams we are discussing (3 teams that are in the top 5 of the country), the most likely scenario is that they all win this weekend and OU wins next weekend. That sets up a showdown between the #2 and #3 teams in the Big 12 Championship, and whoever wins that game can't be jumped over by anybody else IMO.
It'd be incredible to see Mizzou in the National Championship, and it is a very tall order. But there aren't many teams during a season that can ever say they control their own destiny. Not many teams get to say "if we win out, we're playing in the National Championship." Especially with only a couple games left in the season. Now that Oregon has lost, Mizzou can say with 3 games to play, if they win out they will be in the National Championship game.

Yeah, but this thing is over. Missouri didn't play that good of a game and they're still going to win in a blowout. For the next week, I will repeatedly post something about the Jayhawks getting their popcorn ready.
KU, get your popcorn ready.

And the waters have already been muddied in the Big 12..
Oklahoma wins the Big 12 champ. game and they are most assuredly not going to the National Championship game..
So KU or Mizzou better bring their A game if someone from the Big 12 is going to the NC game...cause it won't be OK
