thsi is random, but i've been watching season 8 of law and order:svu on netflix and i think im in 17 episodes and good god there's been like 8-10 different actors from the wire who have made appearances on the show...it's just weird

There is definitely a connection between HBO and Law and Order. There are tons of actors from Oz who appear in one of the L&O franchises.

ANOTHER "the wire" actor on svu...pretty sure wire was over by the time season 8 of svu was airing so i guess they needed work...and yeah, there is a relation...det. john munch (belzer) was on an episode of the wire in season five in a bar...david simon was a writer/consultant (?) on that older cop show, which i can't think of right now, that belzer was on
