I still have like $85 in chips from when I left the blackjack table in a panic when in a combination of paranoia, the fear of throwing $100 down the drain from playing while high and the fear of engaging in bad gambling decorum by not knowing what the hell is going on while the other players stare at me in anger when it takes me forever to make a decision. I'm sure none of that was happening, but in the middle of a hand I just grabbed my chips and ran back to my hotel room, threw my chips in suitcase and went to sleep.
LOL.

Trust me, poke around the website, it's full of so many weird nuggets.

I'm pretty sure they stole my geocities beannie babies fan site design I had in the 90's.
Does MSPowerpoint have a "make your own website" feature now? I haven't messed around with it since college.

For anyone that's not gambling savvy, when Michael says "better gambling odds" he is talking about the payback rate on slot machines. Table games are more or less the same everywhere.

The casino at the Palms kind of sucks and the sports book is terrible, but they do all the other stuff well. The restaurants, pool and clubs are good if that's your thing. Decent poker room and movie theater too. They also have a lot of concerts there so check the schedule. I worked at the Gold Coast for a short time and can confirm it does indeed suck, minus Ping Pang Pong and a 24-hour bowling alley upstairs. The Rio is also pretty worthless unless you are going to a show or eating their buffet. Or if you are looking for a hooker.

If anyone wants to stay completely off the strip I would recommend either Red Rock Casino or the M Resort. Both are really nice places.

Poker's no big deal, but table games seem way more intense. I made the mistake of smoking right before work one night and I had one of those moments where you zone out and drift off. Normally no harm no foul unless you are driving a car, or in my case responsible for a lot of money. I freaked out a little bit and later told my boss I was going to throw up so I could go home.

I agree, with one caveat - 6:5 blackjack vs 3:2 blackjack is a big deal for a player's expected loss rate. Harrah's (including rio) properties love 6:5 blackjack.

FWIW, I hate Harrah's properties, in general.

I'm headed 9/6. Have a good time.

I am bringing flowers to lay at the site formerly known as O'sheas.

O'sheas was right in the middle of the Flamingo, Caesars, Mirage, etc. Like awesome. They had cheap drinks. Cheap food. Cheap tables, and it was all right there, open to the strip. YOu could play poker and have people walking down Las Vegas Blvd bump into you almost. (Not really, but it was right there). And, they had a leprechaun. And cheap, for vegas, jaegerbombs, iirc?

Just an awesome, awesome place. Oh yeah, beerpong and burger king.
