This. Order online, head to the store, it is waiting on a shelf, you just walk past people, grab your bag and walk out, you're in and out in less than a minute.

It's decent food with some healthy options and the quality of the ingredients is better than most fast casual places, not a bad choice for lunch every now and then.

This is an Atomica at Cemitas Puebla.

It's a sesame bun, Oaxacan cheese, avocado, salsa, a fried pork chop, ham, and grilled pork loin.

Now that I am rolling, across the street from the breadco/panera is an Einsteins. Boy does it suck. I had latent memory of Einsteins being good, 10 years ago. But it ain't worth a [expletive] now. Well, hell yes a pretzel dough wrapped hot dog. But my microwave is as good as theirs.

the Einsteins opened at a space that I have a personal conspiracy theory on-it was a Local deli bbq bakery or coffee or whatever they thinks may work place. For a while they had good soups. Not a lot of money in the lunch soup biz though. I would drop by and each time notice it sliding further into disrepair.

The conspiracy theory comes when I sense the place is near done, someone just drives a vehicle thru it while closed. more creative than the after-hours kitchen fire.

airport fast food price and style. I was hopeful to have something decent that is walkable here. 'Twas not to be. eat at home or QT.

That is not a comp to Panera, brother. I trust you (sometimes) for the baseball sabre [expletive] which I am too dumb for. Now , I just don't know...

I had a pretty smooth, unremarkable yet satisfying BM this morning which was in no way driven from the norm by Panera consumption, so that closes the book on my Panera review.

There is one in the West Loop, on Fulton Market, just west of Halsted. It's not far from the United Center if you find yourself over here for a Hawks or Bulls game. There was one in the 'hood, the original in Humboldt Park, but they lost their lease (like 3 months after renovating the hell out of the place and adding value to the landlord's property) and are building out a new space on the west side now. They have a temporary one open at 3129 W Armitage. Also if you're at the United Center it's not far away and it will be a lot easier to find parking around this one than the West Loop one.

Tip: you get three salsas, green, red, and really deep dark red. Deep dark red is where it's at. An earthy, smoky spice that is perfect on the sandwich.

Another tip: they have multiple cemitas. Atomica (above, with all the pork), milanesa, jamon, carne enchilada (those three are the three things that go on the atomica) are best--any sliced meat. They have some offerings like carne asada, pollo, arabe that are pulled/chunked meat, and they tend to fall apart when you eat them on the sesame roll, whereas the first four I mentioned are sliced meats that don't fall out and make a mess when you eat it. If you're in the mood for the arabe (it's really good) it's best on a taco. Stick to the sliced meats on the sandwich.

Edit to add: oh, also. Summer is the best time to go. That's when papalo is in season.

I'll check it out at a Bulls game. I went to Manny's Deli tonight and got the Pastrami. Now THAT'S a sandwich.

I actually did not know what Brisket was, asked the guy who gave me a hard time, and then gave me a sample. Good lord that was awful, how can anyone possible eat that? Fatty. He asked me if I liked it, I was polite and said truthfully that I liked the Pastrami better and went that route.

I had heard of Brisket but didn't know what it was. I still don't, but know that it's some nasty ass fatty meat that isn't fit for a dog.
