I particularly liked the post I saw on FB yesterday pointing out that people need to remember that the first case here in St. Louis and upping the potential risk of spread was by a family who is (most likely) fairly well off) and not by 'dirty, brown immigrants' as those of a certain political affiliation will try and claim if/when there are more cases here.
This is the first time I have seen anything about anyone thinking this virus only picks on "dirty brown immigrants."

I haven't heard that said by anybody at this point either. With some of the garbage I see on Facebook, it is only a matter of time though. It may be sad, but that is the level of faith I have in the majority of Trump voters. Way too many of my family and family friends are Trump voters.

Assuming the worst of people is a good way to never be let down.

Not exactly what you're asking for but racism and ignorance is alive and well.

https://edition.cnn.com/2020/02/20/us/c ... index.html
(CNN)In New York City, a man assaults a woman wearing a face mask, calling her a "diseased b****."
On a Los Angeles subway, a man proclaims Chinese people are filthy and says "every disease has ever came from China."
Rampant ignorance and misinformation about the novel coronavirus, experts say, has led to racist and xenophobic attacks against fellow Americans or anyone in the US who looks East Asian.
"With news of the coronavirus, we've seen an uptick in fear of people who look like this," said Rosalind Chou, a sociology professor at Georgia State University. "Real people are affected."
And the pain ranges from physical to verbal to financial.
"We, the Asian community, are under attack," said Tanny Jiraprapasuke, who was born and raised in Los Angeles.

I really do not want to see anyone here or their families get this virus, really. And I am a Trump voter, really.

I can't visit my mother in her nursing home anymore. Her floor is being isolated because of the coronavirus. That's for her safety, but because of her dementia, I can't speak to her by phone.

Damn, sigh. Sorry to hear, that's rough. Hope everything works out for the best.

Same with me and personally, it is for the best either way until this virus is past. My mother has severe dementia and hardly recognizes me anymore. She is 105 and is in a home two hours away. Can’t use the phone either. I used to visit her about every six weeks but with her mind I believe the only saving grace is that her mind is so bad that she will not miss me. There are 12 cases at this time in Pennsylvania but I am sure the cases will increase.

Ugh. That's heart wrenching. I'm sorry for you both. And your poor mothers.

Well, it sounded like the first case has been confirmed in MO and the family failed to adhere to the quarantine guidelines.
Meaning after they knew they had it?
