Svenson doing his thing
Yep, 1 run in 1 inning and he lowers his ERA.

Good offensive game by the guys for a sweep.

Cardinals improved their Run Differential from -8 to -3. Couple more 10-5 wins will make that look better.

Church drives it to the wall and clears the bases. RBI double makes it 7-4
When Nootbar returns I think you have to play Church as the starter in CF.

And Pages up over a 100 wRC+ was not on my bingo card.

Church has to be the starter and I would think Scott goes back to Memphis unless they think he is just a 4th OFer.

Is there any reason to think this is sustainable for Pages?
I wanna believe, but I was burned by his hot August last year.

Are we good? It seems like we might be good.
I assure you, we are not.
I dunno. I'm not convinced. This team kinda sparks joy.
I know the Pirates series is fresh in our minds, but you don’t have to go back too far to recall the Mariners series, which is probably closer to the truth for this team.

Both series are the truth for this team - the games happened. They're not the Dodgers, to be clear. Their pitching in general is bad (the bullpen in particular), and there are a few black holes in the lineup. But there's more fun to be had from this team than the last few years, largely because of Wetherholt, Walker, and Herrera.

There will be some bright spots, sure. But the roster is still not good, and watching this pitching staff all season is going to be painful. Occasionally fun should not be conflated with "good".

As a reminder, last year's squad was 8 games over .500 at the end of May. They went 45-59 from that point on.

Absolutely; and I’m fine leaving Scott on the roster as a pinch runner/def replacement/bunt guy if needed

Church was very good the last several years in the minors and always wondered if it could translate to the majors…hope he keeps it up as that would solve a huge need. Crazy that his career high in the minors for HRs was 13 and he’s already got 5 in april
