Hard to blame relievers for extra innings losses. It’s a situation designed to get the game over with. Just don’t get to extra innings.

Going back to Isringhausen I think I can count the relievers on one hand I’d feel good about in that situation.

Which isn’t to say O’Brien deserves to be “the closer” as Oli thinks. I just don’t know who else I’d prefer in that slot. I guess Stanek if it’s more than a one run lead. One run though (or tied), pick your poison.
