I wouldn't say the waters in the Big 12 have been muddied. Oklahoma still holds the tiebreaker over Texas by virtue of beating them head to head. What HAS become muddied is the National Championship picture. By ranking, Oklahoma should have won this week and next, and one of Mizzou/Kansas would also emerge, bringing about a face-off between the #2 and #3 BCS teams in the Big 12 Championship (#2 Kansas v. #3 Oklahoma, OR #2 Oklahoma v. #3 Missouri). Now, if Oklahoma (or Texas) ends up winning the Big 12, it looks like no team from the Big 12 will be in the NC.JGant82 wrote:And the waters have already been muddied in the Big 12..
Oklahoma wins the Big 12 champ. game and they are most assuredly not going to the National Championship game..
So KU or Mizzou better bring their A game if someone from the Big 12 is going to the NC game...cause it won't be OK
Latest BCS Rankings: Mizzou @ #6

That was my whole point...Now, if Oklahoma (or Texas) ends up winning the Big 12, it looks like no team from the Big 12 will be in the NC.

Still the same situation for Missouri and Kansas, however.
Win out, and they're in.

Missouri is #3 in the latest AP poll, but West Virginia leapfrogged them in the USA Today poll, where the Tigers are #4.
I've not yet seen the BCS standings, but I'm guessing Missouri comes in at #3.

I'm starting to worry WV may leapfrog Missouri in the BCS standings.

If Mizzou wins out, they don't have a prayer of that happening. They'd have to beat the #2 team in the country and a team that'll likely be in the top 10 in their last two weeks to get to the National Championship game.Secret Weapon wrote:I'm starting to worry WV may leapfrog Missouri in the BCS standings.
WV has a good but nondescript game left against Connecticut followed by a horrible Pittsburgh team. Neither one of those games should do them any wonders in the standings.

Don't. If Missouri wins out, I don't think WVU has a prayer of jumping them for the NC game.Secret Weapon wrote:I'm starting to worry WV may leapfrog Missouri in the BCS standings.
Like I said, Mizzou will probably be #3 in the BCS standings.

Mizzou already leapfrogged WVU in the AP. The converse happening in the BCS isn't likely.
Well, I was camping but it didn't sound like an inspired performance. Should be absolutely crazy next weekend in KC.
What are the odds that these two dismal programs would end up at the top at the same time?

Then you didn't do the best job of making it clear...JGant82 wrote:That was my whole point...Now, if Oklahoma (or Texas) ends up winning the Big 12, it looks like no team from the Big 12 will be in the NC.
The situation in the Big 12 is pretty much the same as it was last week: only Mizzou and Kansas have a shot at winning the Big 12 North; and only Oklahoma and Texas have a shot at winning the Big 12 South. If Oklahoma won, then things would have become clearer because Texas would be out of the picture. But after this week's games, the Big 12 is unchanged.JGant82 wrote:And the waters have already been muddied in the Big 12...
