5 months is awfully quick to come back from ACL surgery. That was probably the mistake that lead to this recurrence.
What a bummer. Is Fabbri going to get historically relegated to the Sam Bradford club of knee injuries?

Lol what....the....[expletive]!!!!!!!!!
I hate sports this year! Cards missing the playoffs (again), mizzou sucking ass again, my 3 season long FF teams all suck balls, can’t get into NFL anymore, hate the NBA. The blues were supposed to be the one last saving grace!
Fabbri out for the season...Berglund, Steen, and Sanford injured. And we don’t have much left under the cap to do anything impactful. Hope the youngsters are ready...
Guess mizzou basketball may be fun!

I let myself get more excited about this Blues team than I have since the Mike Keenan era. So far that's looking like a big mistake.
Fabbri was the player I was most excited to watch this season.

1.) Yes...waaaay too fast. He should have sat out twice as long (10 months).mikechamp wrote:5 months is awfully quick to come back from ACL surgery. That was probably the mistake that lead to this recurrence.
2.) Depends on the type ACL replacement / graft. Hamstring, Patellar Tendon, Cadaver. Each have their pro's and con's...but I went with the Hamstring graft, and it took me longer than 5 months to fully recover to the point where I felt comfortable going back to sports, but it's actually stronger than my other knee (it's a longer rehab because you have to rehab your knee AND hamstring). The speed and recovery time of Fabbri's replacement makes me think it was a Cadaver graft, but I don't know for sure. It's quicker and less painful of a recovery, but sometimes it doesn't take and is weaker than the original knee. Plus he came back too fast.
3.) You can rehab the muscles around the ligament, but you have to give the ligament time to strengthen up...it isn't muscle...and that just takes time. Nothing you can do but wait and strengthen the muscles around it.
4.) Multiple knee injuries aren't good, but it doesn't necessarily mean he's finished. If he hasn't torn his miniscus, I would think he could give it one more try and go with a different type of graft. But the nature of using your knees in hockey, especially Fabbri, means he might never get to the level everyone was hoping he'd attain. Plus he loses another year.
5.) This is a bummer.

Oh and I'm not sure if it was announced when he was injured, but Sanford is out 5-6 months as well.

I just read JT's story and it appears the season starts...
*checks again*
October 4?
I thought it was still another month away.

Yeah, the NHL's preseason is about as short as they come. Two, maybe 3 weeks?
