Well, it sounded like the first case has been confirmed in MO and the family failed to adhere to the quarantine guidelines.
Meaning after they knew they had it?
According to news reports, their college age daughter returned from studying abroad in Italy. She became ill and they were waiting for the test to come back. They were "asked" to self-quarantine. They did not.

The father took their high school freshman daughter to the daddy daughter dance last Saturday night, and the mom went all over town shopping and getting her nails did.

The family has since hired a lawyer who claims they were never told to self-quarantine. Even if that's true, how fvcking stupid and/or selfish do you have to be to not connect the dots here?!?

I thought this was a useful and accessible video concerning the math (epidemics and exponential growth) related to the spread of the coronavirus.

Co-worker's mother is in similar situation as Sigh and Corky parents. She mentioned they will try to set up Skype and facetime. That probably won't work in a lot of cases.

Can't remember if I've posted this guys videos or not, but he's got a lot of useful information on his channel about the virus. In this video, he talks about chloroquine (a drug that's been approved/prescribed for decades to possibly treat cancer and more notably as an anti-malarial medication) and how it can possibly help prevent the disease from replicating in the body (by allowing zinc into cells which prevent the virus' rna from copying or something like that). He then goes on to talk about how S. Korea's protocols call for the elderly to be prescribed a similar medicine and hypothesizes that this protocol is the reason (along with aggressive testing) that S. Korea has seen so few deaths comparatively.

Sports teams are starting to close games to spectators (nets) and move home games (mariners). This is just getting started and is going to get worse quickly. Things are really going to change by the end of next week, I imagine.

Wash U has extended spring break by a week, and will close to students until at least the end of the semester. Looks like I (humble faculty admin) will be doing a lot of tech support for professors that have no idea how to use the Zoom teleconferencing software (which is the thing we'll be running classes with).

I had a lovely dream of working from home, but it looks like they're making us come in. Boo.

My university just extended spring break for 2 days, and ordered all classes be put online through the beginning of April. My daughter's school will likely issue some directive by Friday, after students have completed taking the ACT.
