I saw that Team MMA post earlier too. That is just insane. I loved some of the comments too. My favorites were the one that said they also have to mount and balance all of those tires after the fight and the one that said next week Russia would be fighting the Ukraine but one of the Ukrainian members will defect to the Russian side before the first punch is thrown.

Just watched that YouTube video. Before the fight im thinking "wow! this would be awesome!" Then I see the complete choas that ensues... I mean, its complete pandemonium. I dont know how it could be effectively and safely policed with that many different fights going on, even if there are like 5-6 referees at one time.

People are acting like it's a big deal, positively and negatively, but he's clearly just a driven guy who has a ton of money and is too young to retire from wrestling and do nothing. Seems like he's doing it just to see if he can. At his age, I don't think anyone thinks he's going to contend for anything. Good for him. Seems like a rad guy other than the Cubs fan thing.

Anderson Silva's positive seems to have really bummed a lot of people out, like other fighters who are saying that he made 8 figures from being on the juice, and the clean guys he beat are in much tougher financial situations.
I've not liked UFC for quite a while, I liked the more ground-work based stuff, not just fancy kickboxing, but this is still a shame.

I apologize if this may sound ignorant and/or condescending or that old 'this is not a sport' nonsense, but before the Silva stuff (was there one right before that as well?) I honestly just assumed everyone was juiced and no one really cared.

They seemed to be extremely strict about it - the primary concern fans had was weight-cutting, like in boxing, to sometimes ludicrous degrees (Anderson Silva fought at 185, I think, but his everyday weight was like 230).
