I'd post more about the packers, but most of our games have been pretty boring.

Tonight was my first good look at Tebow NFL QB as well. Good grief it is awkward. But the running, the defenses don't know how to stop it. On TV it looks rigged, like the D should be able to smack him silly, until I get a look and see he's just as big as the linebackers, only he can outrun them. then he throws a pass and it just pathetic 60% of the time. but then occassionally it finds a mark.

It is as bizarre a thing I've ever seen.

I am a believer, only in the sense that this years Broncos have the right guy for that team playing QB now. My gut says that he takes a few hits and gets slowed down, and then he's toast within a year or two when he becomes a passing QB.

and again, Kudos to socnorb for restraint and forced objectivity in his vigilante analysis of the Tebow situation.

I might think about playing a real QB and using Tebow as a runner/passer/catcher. The guy can obviously play a little football but he's not a valid NFL Quarterback.

It's interesting how no immediate definition of quarterback includes passing the ball. So saying "he's a good football player but not a good QB" doesn't really jive with me. I don't think anyone would doubt that when Tebow is on the field, he is absolutely in charge of that offense.

Freed has it right. It works right now, with the current team. What's being overlooked with all of the Tebow hype is the Denver defense. They have been historically bad defensively over the last couple of years, and now they are a real force. Truthfully, THAT is why Denver is winning, along with Tebow making some plays and not turning the ball over.

In Tebow's defense, the play-calling has been awful. John Fox has never been creative offensively (quick - name his last 2 quarterbacks at Carolina). Bottom line is that I think Tebow can have some level of success, but he's going to have to get better at passing the ball. But you also have to remember that Denver's best receiver (and one of the better ones in the league - Brandon Lloyd) was traded to St. Louis, and their running backs are banged up. Tebow really doesn't have any offensive help right now.

Vince Young was a Pro Bowler as a rookie because he could hand the ball off 35 times per game and pick up an occasional first down with his feet. Eventually, teams figure out that when their opponents can push the ball downfield but they can't, they're at a huge disadvantage. A QB who can't throw the ball is not a QB in this league.

Yeah, I don't think anybody disputes that Tebow will have to throw the ball more often and more consistently to get to the next level. He's only started 7 games, and they rarely let him throw. So I don't think anything is conclusive yet.

Tebow was 9/20. If that's not bad enough. 6 of his completions were behind the line of scrimmage. He completed 3 palls thrown past the line of scrimmage.

Only 1 last week, so he's definitely improving.

Yeah, I don't think anybody is trying to make a case that Tebow is pulling off a dazzling passing act.
