La Russa is saying at the press conference that, in the ninth, he toyed with the idea of potentially moving Motte to the outfield, then bringing Scrabble to face a lefty, then bringing Motte back in. Says he "doesn't know if he would've gone through with it", but that it was in his mind as a possibility.
