Live arm for sure, but he seemed to be Miller-esque in terms of just relying on his fastball a lot. He would top out at 98 here and there, but sat 95-96 with the fastball, at least according to the fast gun at Springfield.

Arkansas hit him and hit him hard. I think he gave up 3 or 4 ER through five innings. But even the outs were either very hard hit or K's.
I'm also interested to hear of phins likes him any more than he did earlier in the year. I seem to remember him being a little down on Martinez. I've seen him twice this year, one time he relied almost exclusively on fasballs but the second time he had command of his CB and got a few k's on it.

Honestly, his stuff didn't seem as overpowering the last time I saw him. Rosenthal has just as much oomph on his fastball as Martinez does. Martinez has that nasty tilt to his breaking ball when he gets on top of it that Rosenthal doesn't have.

What Martinez has done a solid job of is getting ground balls.

I just saw him the once, but in a crazy way, his stock is up due to I think his chances of staying a starter have increased due to some tweaks in his motion. I'd sure like to see him miss more bats though.
