So, good time for bye or bad? I can't decide.

i think it's a good time. huge road game coming up. MU has to win that game to set up an even bigger finale against aTm which could be to clinch the East and a berth to the SECCG.

it should also give the coaching staff ample time to implement the announced plan to re-introduce Franklin back into the offense, as well as, keeping Mauk involved. i don't like this kind of thing, at all. the " qb controversy" stuff is lame.

i'd rather pinkel just say franklin is the guy, and mauk is ready to go if needed. and, be confident that mauk will handle it like a true team player and be ready to bail out Franklin if he re-injures his shoulder or falters.

Moving this to the Mizzou thread since I don't want to highjack the NCAA thread:

I didn't think it did. But the announcers - Verne and Gary who aren't exactly pillars of knowledge - said if GA won, a 3 way 2-loss scenario would put Mizzou in the SEC champ game as winners of the east. Though, I thought if that were the scenario, GA would have gone. But...what do I know.
For once, Gary and Verne had something right. A Georgia win would've given Mizzou a mulligan in the next two weeks. A three-way tie with South Carolina, UGA, and Mizzou at 6-2 means Mizzou wins the SEC East by virtue of a better record vs. divisional opponents. Georgia and Carolina each have 2 losses in the SEC East; Mizzou only has 1.

Florida beating South Carolina also would've all but clinched it for Mizzou, but was a ton less likely.

Holy [expletive], I'm glad I didn't know that because I would have had quite a different reaction to that Auburn play. Hopefully that doesn't become another classic tough luck Mizzou moment.

As I wrote in the CFB thread, that's not quite true. Missouri still could have lost the SEC East by losing to both Ole Miss and Texas A&M, even if Georgia had won.

If Carolina had lost to Florida and Mizzou had lost their next two, Mizzou still would've won by virtue of a three way tie with UGA and Carolina at 5-3. Georgia had already lost.

If Mizzou had stopped a 4th and 15 against SC then this thing would have already been wrapped up

If Georgia stops a 4th and 18 against Auburn, then Mizzou would only need to win 1 out of the next 2

you just know Manziel is going complete a 4th and 20 in the last minute to cost Mizzou the title game

No. It isn't.

Hypothetical scenario

* Georgia beats Auburn, beats Kentucky this weekend, finishes 6-2
* South Carolina beats Florida, which they did in fact do, finishes 6-2
* Missouri loses to Ole Miss and Texas A&M, finishes 5-3

So it is not factual to say that Missouri would have clinched the SEC East if Georgia had beaten Auburn. This
A Georgia win would've given Mizzou a mulligan in the next two weeks.
is not true.

Of course y'all still control your own destiny. Sucks that you couldn't nail it down against South Carolina but you can still earn it on the field, which is good.

Oh Jesus... I [expletive] said "all but". I didn't realize you wanted a goddamned detailed breakdown of every single scenario.

Next time, I'll just post the full list of scenarios from the ESPN site.

The 2nd post that I made was AFTER Georgia had lost to Auburn. I didn't think I needed to cover that scenario any more. But next time I will.

Here you go... IF Vanderbilt had won all of their SEC games, they'd win the SEC East. Just in case you were curious.
