And last shotgun post.
If we are putting in the 4 best teams, I would argue that Southern Cal is one of the four best right now. Sam Darnold is a difference maker.

To me, it's not necessarily the 4 best teams. It's the teams with the 4 best resumes. You gotta play well all year.
USC is really good, though.

I hadn't even thought about bumping Clemson, but now that you mention it, I probably agree. With Louisville coming back to earth, Clemson doesn't really have any signature wins this year, and they have one loss to an unranked team.
Winning at Auburn and at FSU is just about as good as anyone else.
Clemson will be 12-1, if they win the ACC CG, and you really don't think they should be in the playoff? They went 14-1 last year and will be 12-1 this year. They're getting in and deservedly so.
Clemson snuck by auburn in thr first weekend when malzahn was still calling plays and in general sucking very badly. They barely beat a 3 loss louisville team at home. Fsu is not the juggernaut they've been the past few years. Blah blah blah. They may be playing better now than they were 2 months ago. I just can't look at them and say hey they look like a top 4 team right now.

hopefully this is the final nail in the coffin for butch jones.
unfortunately we will have to suffer for another year while UT searches for a new AD (which should actually happen sooner rather than later). Oh and the F UCKING $10M BUYOUT.
Dave Hart is a [expletive] moron and he can't be shoved out the door quick enough.
With all that said, people keep saying that tenn was overrated this year. I disagree and not because ive got my orange-colored glasses on. The ranking was justified by their talent and the fact they brought in a highly touted D coordinator.
but then injuries decimated the team and butch's terrible in-game coaching started to rear its ugly head.
I've not been a fan of butch's since the oklahoma game last year. he is a terrible coach who lucked into two top 10 recruiting classes and has ridden that to a [expletive] extension and huge buyout.
even the butch homers have turned on him. he doesn't last another year.

How about some DII talk? My alma mater has never won a DII playoff game. Now, they're 1 win away from the final four. Harding beat Central Missouri two weeks ago and yesterday went to Sioux Falls and won in overtime.
Two playoff wins is beyond imaginable. In fact, if you took all DII schools in Arkansas, there was only one playoff win total before this year.
My Bison are ranked 5th in the country and 13-0, but I'm afraid the storybook season ends next Saturday.
Harding travels to Maryville, Missouri to play #1 Northwestern Missouri State.
Thanks for allowing this DII football plug

Auburn is a 4-loss team. They "might" squeak into the final top 25, but not by much.
Beating FSU by 3 points is OK, I guess.
Clemson is fine, and they'll likely get in, but I'd definitely say they'll be the weakest of the 4 teams.

Just wondering. What is your top 4?
