According to Frank Cusumano of 590 The Fan, Matt Holliday has put an offer on a home in the St. Louis area.
It's a strong indication that he's about to sign a lucrative multi-year deal with the Cardinals. Holliday is known around the league as a "family man" and has made his home in Texas for many years. Clearly he feels pretty comfortable with the St. Louis area and believes that a deal is on the way.

I flew into St. Louis for Christmas and Matt Holliday was two rows in front of me with a guy dressed like a devil next to him. I assume it was Boras though I never got a good look.

Sources have suggested to SI.com's Jon Heyman that the Cardinals at one point offered a seven-year, $112 million contract to Matt Holliday.
The bid is (or was) worth $16 million annually, which is slightly less than the Mets have committed to Jason Bay. The thought of that might not sit well with Holliday's agent, Scott Boras, but it seems like the best offer the 29-year-old outfielder can hope for at this point. We're expecting some sort of resolution to this whole saga by early next week.

Boras would have no need of dressing like a devil.

Maybe Holliday just wants to Flip This Mansion with Rolen's old crib.
