Breaking Bad:
[SHOW]
If it was Walt, it's a kind of cheat the show hasn't done before. Having the main character just go missing (which they made an emphatic point of) and then advancing the plot behind the scenes rubs me the wrong way a little. With Gus that's okay because we still don't know much about him and how he operates, but I don't like doing that with the main character. They've never shied away from showing Walt do terrible things before, and him doing those things is part of what makes the show compelling. Artificially creating tension by withholding information about what he's done is out of character (for the show), so I hope it's not the case.

Having said that, it makes more sense than Gus. Walt wouldn't normally do that, but he feels cornered so I wouldn't put anything past him.

From the way Jesse was talking, the poison seemed certain, but I wonder if we don't find out it wasn't poison at all and the kid is sick for some other reason. A completely random event happening setting everyone's paranoid alarms off. For this show, that seems more natural to me.

My guess is that nobody poisoned anybody and that people are just getting paranoid.

You beat me to it - just added that.

This clip gives some strong hints about that:

Suggests that at least Gus didn't know, and Cranston's comments might indicate Walt doesn't know either.

[SHOW]
I honestly assumed that it was Jesse's fault- the kid was trying out smoking, found the "cigarette", and poisoned himself. The Walt angle is one I didn't even think about until I came here.

Homeland looks promising, but the premise is pretty far-fetched and I had a bit of a suspension of disbelief problem for most of the second half of the episode.

I have a hard time trusting Showtime, really. They embrace the escapism angle and it's cool that they do, but they sort of throw everything else out the window.

Marc Maron has Jon Hamm on his podcast that's up today, and Bryan Cranston will be on Thursday's.

I don't usually listen to the Breaking Bad podcast, but I'll probably check it out this week.

I've only listened to a few, but they've added to my appreciation of the show quite a bit.

I know we were probably all watching the Cards/Phils game last night, but did anyone else see the Family Guy episode from last night?

Holy moses, that bad trip scene Brian experienced creeped the hell out of me. That might be the most disturbing thing I've ever seen in animation.

That's my first bet too.

No way it ws Walt.
The entire paranoia that left Gus not getting in the car was just ridiculous. The first outrageous, unbelievable moment since Tuco was still around.
