all I needed was 6.5 points from Roethilswhatever at home against a hapless, winless team to take over 1st place and clinch a playoff spot.

Thanks, Pittsburgh, for deciding to replace your turf in the same friggin week as a home game and thanks mother nature for making that decision even more boneheaded.

Thanks Pittsburgh, indeed.

It looks like we're going to have a very exciting final two weeks to the fantasy regular season. TimeForGuinness's victory over Skillz that Thrillz combined with the lazy bums' unfortunate choice to start Roethlisberger this week prevented both teams from clinching a playoff spot this week. All four playoff spots are up for grabs at this point. With two games to go, seven teams are still fighting for the playoffs. The Violent Pacifists, Frozen Tundra, and Camaro Mullets fought valiantly through a difficult season. Planet's Paydirt and Loose Seals may still act as spoilers, but both teams have ridden three-game losing streaks out of the playoff picture. Here's the playoff situation after Week 12:

1. Skillz that Thrillz 9-3-0
2. lazy bums 9-3-0
3. Warner's Crunchtime! 9-3-0
4. TimeForGuinness 8-4-0

5. Soda Popinksi 7-5-0
6. Tahoe Hit Men 7-5-0
7. Combat Wombats 6-6-0

The Combat Wombats are not yet mathematically eliminated, but they need to win out, have TFG, Soda Pop, and Tahoe lose their next two games, AND score something like 200 more points than TFG to get the tiebreaker. Skillz, lazy, and TFG have the three highest point totals of the remaining playoff teams. This places my team (Warner's Crunchtime!) in probably the most precarious situation of the teams currently in the playoffs. Even more exciting is that the remaining games for the Crunch are against Soda Popinski this week and Tahoe Hit Men in the regular season finale.

One win by Skillz, lazy bums, or Crunchtime locks up a spot in the playoffs for those teams. It's been a very exciting season with a lot of stiff competition. This has been one of my most enjoyable fantasy leagues ever. Thanks for the opportunity, and goooooooo Crunchtime!

It's taken a while for big Soda Popinski to get rolling but as long as Phillip Rivers doesn't singlehandedly lose another week for me I like my chances (although it would be better if my points werent so low. Good luck everyone and its been a good season.

There will still be consolation playoffs, yes?

Yahoo FF Help wrote:How do the playoffs work?

Playoff systems are the same for all Public Leagues (Four teams; Weeks 15 & 16), but vary for Custom Leagues, as they are configurable. However, all leagues must follow one of the structures detailed below.

Four teams: First Week
P1: First Place vs. Fourth Place
P2: Second Place vs. Third Place
C1: Fifth Place vs. Eighth Place
C2: Sixth Place vs. Seventh Place
Second Week
Championship: Winner P1 vs. Winner P2
Third Place: Loser P1 vs. Loser P2
Fifth Place: Winner C1 vs. Winner C2
Seventh Place: Loser C1 vs. Loser C2

If so, I look forward to raking the lower bracket.

I believe there is a consolation bracket for teams 5-8. If you click on the playoffs tab at the top of the standings on the main league page, then click on consolation and you'll see the consolation bracket as it stands now.

I want it on the record that I still have the 3rd most points out of 12 teams and yet my record is 5-7.

As of now, I'd play TFG in the first round. That's lame. Not that the other teams are cake walks, it's just that TFG has the highest score and my roster is thinning out with my key players being on dominant teams and Benson getting hurt (not that he did much).
