Re: NFL 2012 season thread
Zurlein might be one of the best kickers of all time when its all said and done, but I thought he might be a headcase when he started rejecting nicknames based on his personal flavor. I can understand it for "The Walrus," being slightly derogatory, but Greg the Leg was fine. That's not to say I expected him to make a 66 yarder, but the second blown field goal before the half wasn't really excusable. Maybe its more just rookie jitters, but we'll see. It's hard to find why so many teams passed up on him if he was a complete stud.

I'm pretty sure you're reading way too much into a bad game in poor kicking conditions.AdmiralKird wrote:Zurlein might be one of the best kickers of all time when its all said and done, but I thought he might be a headcase when he started rejecting nicknames based on his personal flavor. I liked that nickname until the four nerdy college freshmen sitting next to me at the Arizona game started hyperventilating and screaming "Legatron!!!!" anytime the Rams lined up for a field goal. I think Greg the Leg suffices.JackofDiamonds wrote:Besides, his nickname is Legatron.

Yep. If he starts missing 37 yarders when there's no wind and no rain, we should start panicking. The Third Man wrote:I'm pretty sure you're reading way too much into a bad game in poor kicking conditions.AdmiralKird wrote:Zurlein might be one of the best kickers of all time when its all said and done, but I thought he might be a headcase when he started rejecting nicknames based on his personal flavor. http://blogs.mercurynews.com/49ers/2012 ... ng-safety/Coach Jim Harbaugh took two points off the scoreboard – and an estimated $75 million away from those who bet on the 49ers to win Thursday night’s game by more than seven points.
With 43 seconds remaining in their 13-6 victory, Harbaugh declined a safety from a chop-block penalty, eliminating any a last-gasp Seahawks comeback on a would-be ensuing kickoff.
