One of my favorite things Deadspin, Gawker et al do is [expletive] on the standards of other outlets as if they have e any themselves.

If you listen very closely at about the :20 mark of the ESPN audio of the first at bat, I can maybe hear what the people of Twitter were referring to, but it's intelligible enough that it's all conjecture. And, how they would have been able to hear that over the announcers, I don't know.

Either way, there are racists in every fanbase. Do I doubt a handful of people out of 47k would yell something racist in public? absolutely not. But, you can't paint with broad strokes that way and indict a whole fanbase. Jacque Jones received racist mail when he was with the Cubs. Does that make all Cub fans racist? Nope.

The NY Daily news story reads like it was written by a 5 year old and it's a sad state of affairs where you can take unsubstantiated twitter posts as sources.

You all realize the scrutiny is what it is in a situation like this because the majority of the fan base fully believes in the whole BFIB thing right? Other fanbases have the same crap going on but haven't held themselves up as better than everyone else so no one cares.
