I don't get that. The NTC is really a non-issue. If he ends up [expletive] the bed, we couldn't trade him for pennies on the dollar. That would suck, but it's unlikely.
If he continues to do what he's done for the last 4 years and the Cardinals suddenly suck, I'm sure he'd waive it to go somewhere and have a chance to win along with his stability.
If he continues to do what he's done for the last 4 years and the Cardinals continue to be competitive, it's a non issue.

Plus every player with a NTC that this team has wanted to trade has been traded.

LOL at Cubs fans thinking the Cards overpaid. Anything to somehow get rid of the taste of that Soriano contract.
Also LOL at those who think this will hurt the resigning of AP. Like the Cards are going to put themselves in a position where they cannot afford him.

This is what's getting me...even Heyman had a tweet about the ability to re-sign AP after the Holliday signing
Does anyone really think the Cardinals would back themselves into a corner in their ability to sign the face of MLB and the franchise to sign Matt Holliday? No way in hell...

Twins total salary for their team in 2009: $ 65,299,266. (and a good team I might add)
why dosen't anyone think the cardinals can lock up Pujols and Holliday and with 65 mill spread around for others?
