"A billion here, a billion there, pretty soon you're talking real money, Mr. Pandit."
I've starting watching more of these. It's fascinating.
lol - "so you assume 100% of the upside and the gov't gets 90% of the downside. Have you heard of the term 'heads I win, tails you lose'?"

I've found the solution to our economic woes.
Every day, a major US Corporation must file for bankruptcy and become 60% publicly owned.

on the verge of a bull run??
This article is confusing - on the verge of a bull run? - the markets been up over 10% this year in spite of awful unemployment-what more can we expect? I get concerned when when I read about the inflated stock market and the dow/nasdaq going thru the roof when nothing of substance has fundamentally changed.

your concern is not misguided. neither krugman, stiglitz or reich see much to be happy about. the pumped up market works well in trying to sell a recovery but unemployment will continue to drag for awhile. when the conservative media tried to hype bush's economy earlier in the decade based on a bull market i laughed. it was built on massive bubbles...nothing sustainable. the housing bubble, the oil bubble...they were all shams. wages never kept up w/ inflation and the disparity between the wealthy and everyone else was growing at a rate not seen since ronnie reagan became the first president that blatantly destroyed the middle class.
