Tejada on a one year deal with a promise not to offer arbitration might get it done.

I typically do not agree with the idea that Keith Law is biased towards the east coast teams (I think he's just a mouthy twerp with no people skills), but it's interesting that he praised the Red Sox for giving $16.5 million per year to a 4-win pitcher, and then says that $17 million per year for a 6-win position player is an unreasonable risk.

A comment from Keith Law's column about the deal (it's an insider article), written by Keith himself:
Ludwick's problem in 2009 wasn't "pressure." It was regression to the mean.
Thought you all might enjoy that.

Hank Blalock is still only 29 years old; a power lefty bat at 3rd could balance the lineup very nicely. Just sayin............

I like Blalock as well. If Freese can get it together maybe a nice platoon.

Not to mention that this would be a "buy low" scenario.

Blalock is a failed 3B and his career .245/.300/.414 road line might not be quite fair, but it's closer to the truth than the numbers he's put up in Arlington.

I don't think Blalock is physically capable of playing 3B anymore and he was a horrible defensive 3B to begin with. I'd like to have another lefty bat in the line-up but he's not the answer IMO. I'd much rather have Lopez and his OBP in front of Albert.
