Deadwood is probably my favorite show of all-time and as such, I didn't think Hell on Wheels was good. The dude doing the Swearengen soliloquy at the end was a blatant ripoff. I'll watch because I like westerns, but in terms of the AMC lineup, this wasn't transcendent TV like Mad Men or Breaking Bad, nor was it really entertaining like Walking Dead.MrCrowesGarden wrote:What did everyone think of the Hell on Wheels premiere?

I echo some of those vibes, but I'm a bit more bullish on it than you are. At the very least, I want to see where it goes.thrill wrote:Deadwood is probably my favorite show of all-time and as such, I didn't think Hell on Wheels was good. Last night, the DVR had a Hard Drive Error- WIPED Clean.
With the baseball playoffs, I was behind on about 10 shows. Not sure how to catch up now...

I've been watching Homeland. Good show, but man did it just take a sharp turn last episode. I have no idea what to think, or what kind of show I'm watching now.

What do you mean? Now it's like a "Who's done it"?ghostrunner wrote:I've been watching Homeland. Good show, but man did it just take a sharp turn last episode. I have no idea what to think, or what kind of show I'm watching now.
They certainly left hte possibility that the mole/terrorist is any of 3 people last episode. So, I'm sure it will end up being the 4th, the CIA Boss!

I thought before it was kind of a whodunnit. At least the last couple of episodes. But more than that it was just like a slower, character-driven version of 24. Now it's like a weird cop/bad guy romance, but we don't now if the bad guy is actually a bad guy. I'm pretty sure he's not at this point.

So who else has been watching the Walking Dead? I think I really like the show. DVR'ed it during the marathon that lead up to the season premiere a few weeks ago and have kept going with it.
In other news, I've decided that Terra Nova is awful. It had some potential, but they're, what, 5 episodes into the series and they've already had a murder, a killer memory-eating virus, a meteor crash that caused a EMP-like electronics crash, an orphan turned rogue spy of the 6'ers, and the only suspense or overall plot conflict is what's in the mysterious box that can't be opened!
What's in the box!!! What's in the box!!!

I watched the first episode of Terra Nova and it was awful. I wanted to punch that pouting teenage son in the face.

No scene measured up to Charlie talking circles around the detective last week, but that was a very strong episode of Sunny.

Yeah, I like the Walking Dead although I do think they've slowed the pace down a lot, also, the mom of the little boy grates my nerves. That being said though, pulling the zombie out of the well was awesome.
