The only good thing for Mizzou out of this is that they'll see more money. Other than that, I guess they'll enjoy perpetual also-ran status and wondering if they scheduled enough early season cupcakes to be bowl eligible.

Mizzou isn't going to be any less competitive in the SEC, especially being put in the East.

I guess I agree in the sense that they are already also-rans. Other than that, moving from having the toughest team in your division being Kansas State to being (take your pick) Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, or Tennessee...sure, I guess they will do just fine.

Contrary to what the SEC hype might be, they are not loaded from top to bottom with teams that would win 10 games in every other conference. Florida was obviously a title contender with Tebow, but they have a completely different coaching staff and haven't been able to maintain that level of success, having lost 9 games in the last 1+ seasons. Georgia and Tennessee have great history, but it's been 3 years since either of them lost less than 5 games; they've been trying to flirt with being of the same caliber as Mizzou the last 5 years, not the other way around. Same goes for South Carolina really, who hasn't lost less than 5 games in 10 years.

The SEC is a better conference most years(not this year), but not so much greater that good programs like Mizzou suddenly become Vanderbilt once they play an SEC schedule. As it stands right now, Mizzou's odds of winning the East next year don't seem to be worse than anyone else's.

Yeah, I don't really get the hate. Mizzou has a better chance of winning the East next year than winning the Big 12.

But if you are just looking to hate the move, I guess you could downplay Mizzou's chances in football based on some preconceived notion outside of Mizzou's control as opposed to their flaws this year which Mizzou does control... I'm sure there are some aTm fans saying the same thing, but one good thing about Texas is that unlike Missouri, fans actually are excited about the move becuase they are confident in their team (due in large part to over inflated egos and what not being from texas but I digress)..... And they should be, they have a good team....as does Missouri. I wish Mizzou fans would have the same confidence instead of snarky inferiority complex comments.

I can honestly say, after watching a [expletive] of SEC games last year and as many Mizzou games as I could, Mizzou would have likely won the east and been in the SEC Championship game against Auburn which would have been about as exciting a game as there would have been in all of college football alst year..... Take it for what it's worth, but they were a better team than USC last year who did win and they would have matched up extremely well against Auburn....

This comment is so wrong it's laughable.

Oklahoma, Texas, aTm, KState, OKState, Mizzou, BAylor is a tougher division than KY, Vandy, FL, TN, UGA, USC, Mizzou would be this year.

I'm not going to comment on where they would finish this year because I honestly don't know. But if they finished near the bottom, it'd be because they've got problems....not because the SEC East is so unbeatable....

I'm in agreement that the SEC doesn't seem any more indimidating than the Big12.

Even then, Mizzou's goal the last ten years has been to get to National Championship calber where they're playing to win BCS bowls. The same teams that they're gonna be playing in the SEC they'd be playing in those bowls.

Teams like Oklahoma and Texas would be juggernaughts in the SEC and that's who mizzou has tried to compete with in the big12.
