I like watching Iowa St. play. From here on out, as long as they aren't playing Mizzou, I'm going to pull for them. It's uncanny how much they seem to be an on-court representation of exactly what Fred Hoiberg was as a player.

Going back through the brackets, in 2008, Memphis was a 1 seed placed in Houston with 2 seed Texas. In 2007, UCLA was a 2 seed in San Jose with 1 seed Kansas (not that San Jose is that close to LA, but it's much closer than Bumble [expletive], Kansas). The year before, it was UCLA again, in Oakland, with 1 seed Memphis. In 2005, 2 seed UConn was in Syracuse with North Carolina.

Granted, none of those is as pronounced an edge as Mizzou would have in St. Louis. All of those other 2 seeds were much further away than Columbia to St. Louis.

I wonder, though, how much the change (if it really is one) will be in how they rank the teams this year. If MU is the fifth or sixth, do they get a preference over where they play as opposed to the eighth placed team who would also be a 2-seed?
