the NY based late night talk shows are going to start taping in front of no audience. here's what it was like with letterman during hurricane sandy

NHL going on hiatus
The NHL has suspended its season due to the rapid spread of coronavirus but hopes to resume in the future, sources told ESPN Thursday.

There are 189 games and three and a half weeks remaining in the NHL's regular season. There were 10 games on the NHL slate Thursday.

As of right now I'm umpiring a tournament this weekend of teams from southern Oregon and northern California. So it's not totally shut down yet.

Meanwhile, my baby granddaughter in NICU -(she was a little early, got to make sure she is on track , in good hands. ) spending so much time going between work to hospital and back catching snippets of all the news. it is surreal.

When we were moving her to NICU -they have use a hospital security guy for escort. Old guy. Well-meaning but not professional and tone-deaf.. Giving me his 2 bits about "the panic" on the way up. I had to block/ engage him in this banter, because my wife doesn't suffer fools when 1st grandbaby is being rolled thru the hospital.
