They can use the same sets; I think having things like that launch between series would keep people subscribed rather than losing subs during hiatus months.

Voyager season 4 episode 14: Message in a Bottle
Voyager beamed the Doctor onto a Starfleet vessel 60,000 light years away, but it was already taken over by the Romulans and the crew are all dead. Only the Doctor and the ship's own EMH played by Andy Dick are now one-upping each other over who is the best EMH.
The Robert Picardo, Andy Dick buddy comedy bit was delightful.

Last night I was doing some chores around the house as well as finishing up some paperwork from the last week and fired up Pluto; which has a Star Trek channel; and it was playing TNG nonstop for about 4 hours while I was wasting away the night. Was nice to just let it mindlessly play without looking at episode lists or any of that. Pluto...free Star Trek. Amazing.

I have all the Trek movies in like six different formats...it's awesome.
The Robert Picardo, Andy Dick buddy comedy bit was delightful.
Recently got to an episode in which the great Bob Picardo reacts to something 7 of 9 says about her social skills with the cattiest sick burn and eye roll combination that was so delightful I rewinded and rewatched at least 10 times. He's the best.
