In what is called Project Wolverine, a nod to Jeter's native Michigan, the Marlins executive attempted to prove to potential investors that the franchise will turn a major league profit immediately.

According to the Miami Herald, decreased payroll coupled with increased revenue from ticket sales, corporate sponsorships and a revamped local TV deal, as well as a one-time payout of $50 million that each MLB franchise will receive this season, will carry the moribund franchise to profitability. The one-time payment is the result of MLB's $1.58 billion sale of its controlling stake in digital media company BAMtech to Disney, which also owns ESPN.

Sounds like Mitt Romney is running the franchise.

Just make sure it has 55 for the number so you can take a little tape and turn it into $$.

Giancarlo Stanton's intense focus for fitness and training have helped him develop into one of the most imposing power hitters in Major League Baseball, which made the new Yankees slugger an appropriate subject for the upcoming cover of Men's Health.

Never would have happened if he'd accepted the St. Louis trade.

It’d be hotter if he was singing about The Square Beyond Compare instead

I don't know, Matt Holliday graced the cover of Muscle and Fitness if I remember correctly. I do know there was an article about his workouts with a bunch of pictures of him working out in one issue during his time here.

Although maybe Men's Health is a higher prestige magazine than Muscle and Fitness. I don't read either of them. I'm going to claim that Men's Health is the garbage of the magazine world though because for some reason the last six issues or so have shown up at my place. I never expressed any interest in subscribing but for some reason I apparently have a subscription now. I would have much rather the Playboys kept coming than Men's Health. I only got two Playboys before they stopped though.

Maybe I'll actually crack open one of the many Men's Health issues that I have just stacked up and see what they're all about.

I actually just grabbed a couple of magazines from my mailbox on my way to work this morning and tossed them in my bag. I figured maybe one of them would be that issue of Men's Health. Nope. I just checked my bag and I have issues of Golf Digest and Entrepreneur.

Albert also had a big spread in one of those type magazines. As a Cardinal. But yeah, that was the first thing that went through my mind; this doesn't happen if he comes to StL.

I don't know if the NY Post has an agenda in sports the way it does it politics, but for what it's worth.....

Did Yankees make their Ellsbury mistake with Giancarlo Stanton?
