I can't believe I watched a scene showing the 3 guys spanking it together in a car, divided by sheets, conversing the whole time. It was also pretty hilarious. I will be really surprised if this show makes it to season 3. It's just too bizarre and twisted to get ratings, right?

In other news, Game of Thrones geeks I hope have seen the teaser for season two, right?

First shots of Stannis, Davos, Melisandre, and Margaery! This is very exciting, people!
Ive started listening to the book. Kick ass narrator, who just forces me to embrace the dorkiness. Really, it's not all that dorky though (except for that awesome narrator), As far as fantasy goes, I've only done Lewis and Tolkien, which are both dorkier. Is the series just going to be the one book? I'm lazy but also afraid of spoilers. Seriously though, that narrator of the audiobook is fantastic.

The author has many times insisted that the voiceover guy is the one single person in teh whole wideth world that he wanted for his audiobooks. I can't listen to audiobooks - they drive me bonkers, I just read too fast to enjoy it - but I've heard a lot of people saying they are superbly done.

Anyway, the first season of the TV show covered the first book. The fifth book came out this year, after fans like me waited for years and years. The author plans on finishing the series with two more books. Which will probably take him literally most of this decade. So don't read/listen too fast :)

I'll be interested to year how you enjoy it, coming from a non-fantasy reading background. Especially in the first book, there's really not a ton of supernatural stuff, as you probably saw if you watched the HBO show.

I really liked the character, so that sucks. Hopefully with Jimmy dead they keep Richard and maybe give Capone, Luciano, Rothstein etc more time. Nucky turning mega heel is a good step for his character, but he still isn't very interesting. Margaret is an awful character so hopefully he kills her after she sells him out with the land deal. I really enjoy the more straight forward gangster stuff. I don't like the relationship tug of war between Nucky and Margaret.

I just need to apologize to everyone on here... You see, when Breaking Bad started I recorded the first episode, loved it, but my DVR screwed up and I never got any other episodes recorded/watched. I've gone 4 years without watching them. Now, through the power of Netflix, I'm halfway through season 3 and it is the most incredible thing on TV right now. I'm blown away episode after episode. I watch about 2 a night, which is just south of overload.

So, I feel I need to apologize to all of you for not having watched it sooner.

Seriously, this is like killing off a more badass Christopher in the second season of the Sopranos.

That's a big part of why I liked it. With the Sopranos background, the Darmody/Nucky relationship always struck me as the new Tony/Christopher (but, as you say, more badass).

Read this interview. It's killer. You nailed it about the other gangsters:

Van Alden is in Cicero now, right "in Capone's backyard". As for Margaret, her whole storyline sucks and bogged down a lot of the season for me. It was an awesome season and all of the Darmody stuff was fantastic. All of the "Margaret's Catholic guilt makes her behave really irrationally" part sucked.
