A baked potato is a beautiful thing, loaded up w/ butter and chives and sour cream and some chopped up bacon and [expletive]. Crispy skin like ZigZag said. Maybe some cheese. Hot damn, some cheese with all that other stuff. I'm gonna go home right now and bake a potato because of this thread and I don't care if theMrs54 comes out from the bedroom rubbing her eyes at 3am and is all "Is that bacon? Why are you cooking bacon at three in the morning?" so for real thanks for making me think about baking a potato. The baked potato is like the perfect delivery vehicle for all that goodness. Granted, fries are great too. So are home fries, roasted potatoes, hash browns, there's a lot of good potato out there. Latkes. Dang, some good latkes with aioli. But sometimes I forget about the baked potato, and it's like, damn, baked potatoes are great. It's like Tom Petty how sometimes you forget about Tom Petty and then "Yer So Bad" plays and you're all "F me man, Tom Petty is pretty freaking great." So again thanks for this guys.
You know what's also rad? Make some good buttery mashed potatoes, then bake a potato, then open up the baked potato and stuff it with the mashed potatoes and then just while you're at it go ahead on and cover it in butter and chives and sour cream and bacon and cheese.

The act of fighting with swords til the death seems like it would be a whole lot simpler and less theatrical than the movies make it seem, no?
I mean...it can't be that tough to live or die, right.

Also, at the end of the movie Rob Roy, we all agree there's 0.00% chance that's possible right.

Slept right through it. God bless her. She did, however, have words for me about the cast iron pan w/ bacon fat in it this AM and wanted to know why on earth can't you just clean up after yourself when you do this late at night which is a 100% salient point.AWvsCBsteeeerike3 wrote:Ha. Re: Random musings
So when you watch fencing at the Olympics and every single point is over in like 3.6 seconds because they go at each other and someone gets someone and then they stop and are like "ok, point to this guy because he just stuck him in the chest with that old timey AM/FM car antenna" it seems like sword fighting would be in real life pretty similar and that it would be a real Monty Python moment in pretty short order.AWvsCBsteeeerike3 wrote:The act of fighting with swords til the death seems like it would be a whole lot simpler and less theatrical than the movies make it seem, no?
