Re: Super Bowl LVIII February 11 2024
SpongeBob feed was perfect. I’m not an NFL guy, but you know exactly what Nantz and Romo are going to be saying the whole time. So it’s fun to turn it all on its head. May have gotten old, but we’re talking the whole time anyway. The most fun we had was discussing what kind of animations they’d do if a player almost died, as happens every once in a while.
Isn’t Comedy Central also in the CBS family? They need to do something there with some good improvisers (but that are actually into sports so it’s not totally a blow off).

Any comments from the group on the ads? (It's half the reason I watch the Super Bowl.)

Re: Super Bowl LVIII February 11 2024
The joke with my wife is that we eat Superbowl food all the time with our garbage diet so we would try new food (just my wife and kid with me at home this year). She made ham and cheese sliders in the oven with a brown sugar and mustard sauce that was amazing. She also made potato skins but used slices of potato kinda like a potato bagel bite with bacon, cheese, and sour cream. Then topped it off with homemade ground up oreo shaped like a football dipped in chocolate.
I did not feel well today.
Spongebob broadcast was awesome and kept my kid interested.
Taylor Swift was cheesy but legitimately had my wife more interested in the game.
Usher and other performers were totally fine. Nothing earth shattering but kind of safe and boring.
Commercials were fine but just looked like a contest to fit the most celebrities in their commercials. Usually more thought goes into the writing.

I liked the Spicy Doritos Grandmas but I can't remember what flavor of Dorito they were pushing.
The Twins twist to Good Neighbah made me chuckle too.
And all the Walken impersonations were mildly amusing but I don't remember what product they were pushing either so probably ineffective.

After rereading I guess the way I described it sounded like cake size. It was ground oreo and cream cheese and other stuff shaped into little bite sized footballs and dipped into chocolate. Also some oreo truffle things that are so damn good.
We also had mixed veggies dipped in ranch. That means it was a healthy superbowl, right?

As long as the ranch was applied in copious amounts we can still be friends.TGantz wrote: ↑February 12 24, 9:02 pmAfter rereading I guess the way I described it sounded like cake size. One dead and several hurt in a shooting at the KC Super Bowl celebration this afternoon.
And this is why we can't have nice things.
