I went to mlb.tv last season because I'm not home enough at night to enjoy the games. It's not as good as EI, but it's better than nothing.

I've really tried to think about this from the business side, and I just think it is a short sighted move on MLB's part to do this. Small sample size I know, but 6/10 that would buy EI through their cable are choosing to just not get out of market games.

And this isn't the average Joe fanbase they are dealing with.

I just called DishNetwork...doesn't sound good.

Does anyone have anymore info on what Kerry is trying to do. I'd like to contact my state senators and ask them to "get on board".

(Although I'm sure Obama is too busy to be bothered)

Basically he is trying to say that they are violating anti-trust laws. There is another big name involved, can't remember who it is.

I still don't see how this is any business of the governments, and it really ticks me off that people waste time on this stuff.

Whether it is or isn't is open for debate. I don't pretend to understand the legal issues, but I've heard some pretty convincing arguments by legal experts that Kerry et. al have a legitimate business getting there nose stuck in it.

I didn't vote as I didn't have a package this year. I was fully intending to get EI this year, but am not willing to switch from Comcast.

I will likey go the mlb.tv route. I have a laptop with wireless router, so I wouldn't be tied down to my desk.

Integrity!

Go ahead and vote, my purpose of the poll was to get some very small idea of how this is going to play out. I'm just wondering if DirectTV is counting on people flocking over, and on this very small and unscientific poll it looks like that might not be the case.

I'm in the phone/internet/cable all bundled up and it's just too much of a headache to switch crowd.

Introducing MLB.TV PREMIUM. I'm telling you Jim, after that Baseball Musings piece, and this $5 per month/$30 per year hike, this is making all the sense in the world to me. A bit of a gamble, but lately it's looking more and more sound.

It all really sucks, but you can put me in the camp that thinks this is none of the Gov't's business. Personally I wish people were a little more upset about the ridiculous blackout restrictions.

I am reasonably sure that this just happened, unless I have completely missed something. A google search only brings up the MLB site. I haven't heard about it anywhere else. By the way, you'll have to purchase the premium package if you want that new picture quality, etc. Props to greenback for calling this a week ago.
