The Cubs like Colorado's Clint Barmes, despite his low .264 on-base percentage last year and an equally anemic .295 lifetime OBP.

I've been saying this from the beginning of time.myersli wrote:The biggest joke of it all will be when the Cubs finally tire of both Wood and Prior and let them go... only to see one of them go on to have a real career somewhere else. Hey, it could happen!
Anyone that actually wants to achieve personal and team goals should figure out a way to get out of the North Side as quickly as possible.

They may not have a choice. My understanding is that to demote Prior he would have to pass through revokable waivers. Which means if another team claimed him, the Cubs would have to pull him back or lose him. If this happened he would probably be DL'ed and stay in extended ST for the maximum amount of time allowed.G. Keenan wrote:Is Prior going on the DL or just starting the season in AAA?
Is it common practice to allow players like Prior to be sent down as a courtesy, or will teams put a claim in to block it? Anybody know?

Is it really? Huh. NSBB got hacked a day or so ago(part of something that attacked a bunch of phpbb boards), so that's the reason for it.Jocephus wrote:yea, whats up with thatpicasso wrote:This what they were saying few days ago on NSBB. Unless someone there was mistaken, or I read it wrong. I can't go back and double check right now cause like I said it's currently closed to non-members
