How so? After a game there's going to be some knee jerk reactions but it's clear this team isn't playing well and there are some legitimate holes. No one is seriously claiming our season is over.

Yeah, we do. We've lost two games. Two.

Did we give up when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

Other then one post I see nothing in this thread to suggest that attitude. Overall it was an ugly game. No one is saying our season is over. Specifically where are you seeing that?

Isn't part of the fun of sports getting worked up over something that in the grand scheme of things doesn't really matter? In that spirit, I don't see what's so bad about overreacting after a loss.

So, I was there tonight. Couple things:

1. Kip Wells is a very sloooooooooow worker. You're not going to see Matty Mo out there. And it being 50 and windy was not a very pleasant experience.

2. Kip was definitely nervous out there. Settled down and didn't have any help from the D, two errors. So all in all not a bad start.

3. WE NEED ANOTHER BAT! I know I know, it's the second game of the year. But, I think the Cards will definitely need a bat if they want to contend.

4. Rings are pretty cool! Think the fused to the stand crap is pointless. The only reason they fused the rings to a stand is to get the dumb sponsors name on there. STUPID! I will try to break one of the stands off the ring. :D

5. Players getting their rings was cool, nothing glamorous but, definitely cool to see. The best part was seeing Speezers dad give him his ring.

I'm guessing that these are the games that come back to bite you in September.
The synic in me agrees with you....... however, its the second game of the year. Granted its not a great way to start the season, but the bats will come around. The OF will get healthy or Walt can sign someone, and mentally we should be able to take a few tough losses and know that its not the end of the world. Maybe I've been drinking this Cardinal Kool-Aid for too long, but I don't think this is anything to get overly concerned about.
We're only 1.5 games back of the wild card with 160 games left. I still like our chances
