The horrible Cards offense has surprised me. I didn't think they'd be that good, but I certainly didn't think it would be as bad as it's been.

Looper has been the surprise of the pitching staff.

As for other teams, Atlanta and Arizona being at the top of their divisions surprises me, but it's early. The Phillies have been probably the biggest surprise from the other end.

Albert hitting as poorly as he did in the WS. In a clutch situation I now prefer to see Dunc or Spez at the plate.

Ryan Franklin went from being a strong candidate for the last rotation spot to the dominant set up man for a back-to-normal Izzy.

Gary friggin Bennett is hitting (and running :D ) well.

Outside of our team...

The struggles of the Phillies.

I'm enjoying the struggles of the Phillies.

I would have to say I'm surprised with Albert's start and how good our starting pitching has been without Carpenter.

I pretty surprised that we have scored 26 runs in 9 games and are above .500.

Biggest surprise? Tony's DUI. That and the fact that Piniella hasn't gone postal yet.
