Reyes has to be traded.

what would a guy bring that an org. has been extremely high on and all the sudden want to get rid of him? I will keep reyes and give him a chance beyond 6innings pitched this season. Have we not seen other pitchers start slow or have bad first innings? (Matty Mo comes to mind as a terrible 1st inning pitcher.) Even Carp has bad stretches. Let the kid learn to pitch.

How long will you let the "kid" learn? He has been horrible since second half of last season. Granted he had occasional great outings. But that's true for ANY major league pitcher.

What the Cardinals get for him is secondary in my eyes. He needs to be traded for his own benefit.

I don't think Reyes needs to be traded or jettisoned from the rotation. I think the expecations need to be adjusted.

I think Reyes is a nice, mediocre pitcher even with a long ball problem. He won't be average in St. Louis.

I'm not ready to give up on him yet but this is frustrating.

HIs own benefit? You write as if he has had a bad experience here and needs a new beginning. He has only begun.

As I stated in the game thread the last time he started I said I can see why last year was so difficult. He was sent down when he should have been with the team. Then back up and down and so the game goes on. Told he had to learn a new pitch or he could never make it in the bigs without ever having the chance to see if he could make it. Learning a pitch he didn't throw and they want that to be the #1 pitch is not fair. So far that 2 seamer has not helped him out much. He needs to go back to the four seamer. Anyways last year was a messed up year for the kid and no greenback I do not think that qualifies as needing a fresh start.

As far as Reyes goes, it's interesting that he can still pump it up to 94 MPH up in the zone, and his change looks as good as usual, it's just those selections constitute less than 10% of his pitches.
