Duncan's looked far better than the more experienced, experiment in CF, Preston Wilson this year. He has looked like a dog chasing his tail on most routes to fly balls this year.

he only has one error, when guys like Gary Matthews Jr, Juan Pierre, Bill Hall, Preston Wilson, and others have 2-4... he has a higher fielding position among outfielders than a lot of us would have figured as well..

If he makes plays a little more adventurous i dont really care as long as he continues to hit like he is. Right now he is tied for 19th in all of baseball hitting .333 ... and just a week or so ago he was leading baseball.. and he is 6th in home runs... will he keep it up? doubtful, but he is doing well in all facets of the game... better than a lot of us would have thought and he is the one player making web gem/defensive masterpieces that are shown in the highlight packages...

in the long run.. he is no worse than some of the games "elite" outfielders like your Manny Ramirez, and so on down the line...

Chris Duncan now scares me less than Lonnie Smith did. He's gaining on Lou Brock as a defensive player.

For those too young to remember, Brock was downright scary at times.

He's better than last year. A number of people thought he couldn't possibly improve on last year, so there you are. Hopefully he'll continue improving and building confidence.

This thread seemed worth rekindling after Saturday's Cubs game.

I'm no longer merely worried for his defense; I'm now worried for his safety. He's not only gonna fail to make the play, he may kill himself.

I thought he was going to break his wrist on the dive on Friday night.

Who would win in a fight? The bullpen chain link fence or Duncan?

IIRC, his great defense play has been broadcasted on ESPN Taiwan twice! -- That is impressive, most of the time, it has been Jimmy or Rolen, especially Jimmy! :D
