Bump.

We won in 2005 without Rolen. We can do it in 2011 without Wainwright.

Who is 2011's Abraham Nunez?

Someone has been reading too much VEB

I'm gonna say Ian Snell.

Fat Strat wrote:That’s an overall advantage for 2011 of 6 WAR. Do you think the ’11 Cards could be 6 wins better than an ’05 Cards team that won 100? It’s comical to think about, but if that doesn’t put you in a better mood about the club, then I don’t know what else will.

Go Cards! We’re going to win 106 games!
BUMP

So, I was wrong. The Cards probably aren't going to win 106 games. Instead, they're on pace to win 94 games, and they are playing 1 game behind their pythag. That means 95 wins. In 2005, the Cards outplayed their pythag by 2 runs. Since, we're comparing this club to that club and assuming "everything goes right" add those onto our record and we're on pace to win 97 games!

If you aren't enjoying this Cardinals team there is something wrong with you. Sure, we've blown saves. Sure, we've kicked and booted more balls than a 7th grade soccer team. But, we just keep winning.

I'm on record now as predicting 95 wins for the Cards, best record in baseball.

Bump again.

Now on pace for 97 wins. On this day in 2005, the Cards were 38-20. Our Cards are 37-25.

Boy, those '05 guys got off to a seriously good start.

I'll take the 2005 Cardinals, but this team is worth watching.

Wainwright's WAR added into the equation is really going to help the 2011 team. I'm confused as to why he is added but Scott Rolen for 2005 isn't.
