Tony did that against Dusty and the Reds in April with Jaime and it worked like a charm.

It was KMac, but yes it worked. I wouldn't mind spot starting Boggs if it looks like the rain is going to hit in the 2nd/3rd. If it's any later than that, then you just have to go ahead and throw Carp out there and be done with him after the rain hits and go to the BP at that point, imo.

it looks like once it shows up, it's not going to get any better until tomorrow

advantage: Carp
the way he sweats through the heat of summer, it always looks like it's raining on him

I think it was Batista. KMac was already in the rotation.

Kmac instead of Garcia, not Kmac instead of Batista.

the Brewers are going to be just as disadvantaged as us, so I'd prefer we play and have Carp available for game 7 on full rest
I'm not saying they won't be disadvantaged.
But what if there was a significant rain delay last Friday night?
We would have ben deprived of one of the best post season games ever.
Carpenter-Gallardo should decide who wins.
Not K-Mac-Estrada.

Right. KMac was the scheduled starter, not Garcia. Batista started for KMac, the rain came, batista left and KMac came in. And, the Cards won.

That was a very unique situation with KMac and Batista. It was very smart, but unique. The stars would have to align again for the Tony to consider doing it with Boggs or Lynn and then Carpenter. In the spring and early summer it worked great because you would get a line of storms move through in an hour or so and then it's all clear. That doesn't seem to be the case tonight.
The weather looks like it will definitely rain this afternoon and then drop to between a 50-75% chance the rest of the night. Might be tough to get this one in and definitely doesn't look good for using that same strategy.
