Actually, Doom was the one doing the faxing, because he had to sign the contract. Doom was in Florida, and his agent was somewhere else when the contract was being finalized at the last minute. You would think when you're talking about a $12 mil contract that expires on Friday, it would be worthwhile to fly to your agent's office to wrap up the paperwork. Doom isn't the brightest guy around, but I think this is on his agent, for not wrapping it up sooner. But yeah............ Kinkos???

Here is the statement that the Broncos released.
"For the last week, Elvis Dumervil and his agent were aware of our desire to change the financial terms of his contract to ensure he would remain a Denver Bronco. After numerous conversations with both Elvis and his representative, we submitted our final contract proposal to Elvis today at 11 a.m. MDT. Based on our previous discussions, we believed our offer was fair and were hopeful it would resolve this matter."
"Due to the procedural elements that were involved in executing the new proposal, we imposed a 1 p.m. MDT deadline for a decision, one hour before the NFL's waiver wire at 2 p.m. MDT. Our deadline was clearly communicated to Elvis' representative."

"We did not receive the documents from Elvis by the league's deadline and were forced to release him shortly before 2 p.m. MDT.
"Due to this situation, there are now salary cap implications associated with this transaction that we must consider with regard to potentially re-signing Elvis. At this moment, we are discussing all of our free-agency options to determine what's best for the Denver Broncos."

The "tuck" rule should have never had to exist at all, if the right call had been made. But the NFL felt a need to justify the terrible call, for some reason. #hmmmmm

Still, I'm happy to see progress at all away from the lunacy of the NFL in the 2000's. And this is definitely progress.

About Bradford: I don't know enough about quarterback play to overall approve or disapprove of him. I do think he's received a rather raw deal with all of the scheme changes, coordinator changes, lack of receivers and offensive line.

The only thing I'd like to see more from with Bradford that I believe he himself can control? Learn to throw the ball away if there's nothing there. He takes a few too many sacks for losses (and likely at least some interceptions) because he's determined to hold onto and force the ball.

I will miss his surprisingly-hard-shot-from-the-right-half-wall bus.

Did I do that right?

If your question is, "which way to the gym," Jared Velhdeer knows the answer.

The NFL does not have a PED issue.

So uh, Aaron Hernandez killed a guy? Or something? This seems like it could end up being a big deal.
