So I just realized that all 6 of the Astros farm teams made the playoffs in their various leagues. That's ridiculous.

QC won tonight 9-5 and advanced to the MWL championship round. The most impressive thing about this run is that they did it without their two best pitchers. They shut down them down at the end of the regular season (Appel and McCullers). I would have loved to see them pitch in a playoff game. Seems dumb, but these guys are young.

Despite that, the 1 home playoff game I got to see was an extremely well-played pitcher's duel that QC won 3-1. Only one error on a pretty tough play. Each team caught a guy stealing, and also had successful stolen bases. There were 3 great catches near the wall in the OF. Very tough situational pitching to get out of jams. Etc. Not all MWL games are played this well, for sure. I think at this point in the season the experience is beginning to show, and since it is the playoffs you are seeing 2 of the better teams. There have been sloppier MLB games this year.

Isn't Baez a shortstop? Could that make Castro available in a trade? Maybe the Cardinals could be interested in Castro, if the Cubs would trade within the division.

Baez will play 3B at AFL and probably for the rest of his pro career. He can play SS, but the Cubs want him at 3B. That'll push Kris Bryant to RF.

Those were better than channel 22's (South Bend) highlights. I didn't even realize the Silverhawks were playing the River Bandits. I always assume it's Notre Dame highlights and then I realized this isn't college baseball season. That's quite a difference between Coveleski Stadium in South Bend and Modern Woodman.
