Sure hope they get into the Big East for next season.
Was wondering why you said Big East, and then started looking at these conferences - Big East, Conference USA, and some new one called the American. Boy have they changed. I feel like Rip Van Winkle.
Whatever -I concur, the conference they are in does not make sense - especially w/ Butler gone.

Is the ceiling too low in the MO Valley for SLU?

I don't want to say too low because obviously Wichita State is very good, but they don't seem like a good fit to me. Creighton was the only similar school in the MVC, and now they're gone.

Big East makes a lot more sense, especially now that every school in there is Catholic/Jesuit.

True - similar type schools make for a logical conference. Also, didn't realize how half the Big East teams are now from Midwest.

Big East(non football) and American are the remainders of the splintered Big East.
Catholic basketball only schools in Omaha, Cincinnati, Chicago, Milwaukee, Indy (Butler- not Catholic), plus the East Coast schools. Makes sense for SLU. Hopefully this season will provide the necessary momentum.

Especially given SLU's market (St. Louis metropolitan area). I assume that the school has been improving its athletic facilities and the quality of both their men's and women's teams in a variety of sports, which would be a plus.

Now, they just need a coach who lasts for 15 seconds in his own restaurant, and another who falls off a motorcycle with his mistress, and I'd say the sky's the limit.

Hell of a shot by Tyler Ennis. Game winning shots are so much better when the score isn't tied.

Between that and LeBron's game winner, it was a good night for buzzer beaters.
