Wait, I've figured it out. OSU needs to get Adidas behind them. Oregon gets to run potential recruits through the solid gold training facility Phil Knight built for them. Seeing as Adidas is Nike's competitor, and also headquartered (for U.S. ops) in Portland, they should compete among one of the U.S.'s oldest football rivalries as well.

I recounted, the above results are now correct and standings have been corrected in week 15 thread. Thanks. It was the pinot noir talking. cards 82 and MrCrow were switched.

It also helps if you stumble into bringing in the New Hampshire offensive coordinator, who proceeds to revolutionize football as we know it and transform a team into a powerhouse that's still humming along two years after he left.
I'm starting to hate Oregon for no other reason than that school hit the damn lottery. My favorite school hires a guy who wins everywhere he's been and he transforms into a bum with an 8-4 ceiling.
