Having smart kids just means they'll outsmart you before you're ready. Who would want that?

When I was a shelver at Divoll Library in St. Louis, I would run into parents who didn't want their children to join the summer reading program for exactly that reason. It was really sad.

2 days ago I went to a Cards game with a large group. Half got super wasted and the other half ONLY talked about their kids.

I wish there was a polite signal that provided the person talking this message "I will be polite and listen if you make me, but I really do not care at all and we would both be better off if you told someone else about your kids"

Just use the ole "since you have stopped having new experiences worthy of sharing and live life only through your children, let me tell you about how I went to Fiji, ran with the bulls, and went hang gliding over active volcanos. Yes it's true and I did that for less than you spend on diapers."
I support your rant. I have kids and cannot stand how much people only talk about their own.

My generic response: "Well, since all my kids have 4 legs I can't relate."

I don't have to tell you, it's pretty much obvious!

Over the weekend my dad's girlfriend's daughter posted on FB that her daughter is a genius because she can count in both English and Spanish. That's pretty standard these days and it annoys me. Thankfully I was able to fight the urge to comment that a friend of mine's boy can could count in English, Spanish and Hindi at the same age.

Thankfully the second person never posts junk like that or tells people how smart her kid is. She doesn't have to, you can tell right away.

3 of my daughters can count to 10 in English, Spanish, French, and Romanian! The 4th is only 22 months, but can count to 5 in English.

So [expletive] y'all!
